Hi friend! I’m Lorena Martinez; a Mexican-born actor, writer, and all-around creative visionary. And I must tell you, from the bottom of my heart: play changed my life.

I studied theater at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and earned my MFA from UCSD, where I became the first international actor ever admitted to the program. Acting is all I ever wanted, and one thing about me is: I am very stubborn. For years I hustled and networked my face off, determined to achieve the impossible. I believed that if I wasn’t grinding and pushing, I wasn’t moving forward.

And then, on the verge of a nervous breakdown, PLAY found me. My inner child literally screamed, “Lore we need to play!”

And everything changed. It turns out my greatest breakthroughs come from joy, curiosity, and a deep connection to my inner child. She’s the genius.

That realization became the foundation for Bien Creative, my media and education company, and for PLAYDATE, my wondrous podcast and filmed series where everything is possible and we return to our magic.

Everything I create is rooted in one belief: when we play, we reconnect with who we truly are. My mission is to inspire people to live with more audacity, power, wonder, and freedom- to remind them that what feels good might actually be what is good, and that creativity is how we collaborate with the divine.
